Chicken Manure Pellets organic slow-release fertiliser

Chicken Manure Pellets organic slow-release fertiliser

Feed your soil. Grow better plants. Naturally.

SoilWorx Chicken Manure Pellets are a premium organic fertiliser and soil improver, made from heat-treated poultry manure at the UK and Ireland’s largest organic fertiliser plant. With 75.6% organic matter and a balanced NPK of 4-2-3, these pellets deliver a steady, controlled release of nutrients throughout the growing season — without the mess, smell or guesswork of raw manure.

SoilWorx chicken manure pellets work across your whole garden: lawns, borders, vegetable patches. They give your plants what they need while building healthier, more productive soil year after year.

Why choose SoilWorx Chicken Manure Pellets?

  • 75.6% organic matter – 4x more than compost
Most bagged composts contain around 15-20% organic matter. SoilWorx chicken manure pellets deliver over 75%, making them one of the most concentrated organic soil improvers available to home gardeners. That organic matter feeds the microorganisms and earthworms that keep your soil alive and productive.
  • Slow-release nutrition that lasts
With an NPK ratio of 4-2-3, these pellets provide a balanced feed of nitrogen (for leafy growth), phosphorus (for root development) and potassium (for flowers, fruit and overall plant health). Unlike synthetic fertilisers that deliver a short, sharp burst, SoilWorx pellets break down gradually, feeding your plants for weeks rather than days.
  • Heat-treated and sterilised
Every batch is heat-treated at our UK plant, eliminating weed seeds, pathogens and harmful bacteria. You get the benefits of poultry manure without the risks that come with raw or poorly composted material.
  • Low odour
Our processing removes the strong smell associated with raw chicken manure. These pellets are pleasant to handle and won’t upset your neighbours.
  • Certified organic
SoilWorx Chicken Manure Pellets are OMRI listed and Organic Trust certified, meaning they meet the strictest international standards for organic growing. Safe for use in organic vegetable gardens, allotments and anywhere you want to grow food naturally.
  • Easy to apply
Uniform pellets spread evenly by hand or with a spreader — no clumping, no mess. Simply scatter, rake in lightly and water well. The pellets absorb moisture and begin releasing nutrients within days.

Frequently asked questions

SoilWorx Chicken manure pellets offer several advantages over synthetic alternatives. They release nutrients slowly over weeks rather than delivering a single burst, which reduces the risk of scorching and nutrient runoff. They also add organic matter to your soil, improving its structure, water retention and biological activity over time. Synthetic fertilisers feed the plant but do nothing for the soil itself. For gardeners who want to build long-term soil health alongside feeding their plants, chicken manure pellets are the better choice.

Yes. SoilWorx chicken manure pellets are excellent for lawns. Apply at 100g per square metre in spring (March-April) and again in early summer (June) for a thick, green lawn. The slow-release nitrogen promotes steady, even growth without the flush-and-fade cycle you get with synthetic lawn feeds. Water in well after application.

SoilWorx chicken manure pellets are heat-treated and processed to remove excess ammonia, making them much safer than raw chicken manure. When applied at the recommended rates, they will not burn your plants. If you’re feeding container plants or seedlings, use the lower application rate (100g/sqm equivalent) and mix well into the compost.

You’ll typically see results within 2-3 weeks of application. The pellets absorb moisture from the soil and begin breaking down, releasing nutrients as they decompose. Because they’re slow-release, they continue feeding your plants for 6-8 weeks, unlike liquid feeds that need reapplying every week or two.

Yes. SoilWorx Chicken Manure Pellets are OMRI listed and Organic Trust certified, making them fully approved for organic food production. The heat-treatment process eliminates pathogens, so they’re safe to use around edible crops. Apply before planting or as a side-dressing during the growing season.

Garden compost is an excellent soil conditioner but is relatively low in nutrients. SoilWorx chicken manure pellets contain 75.6% organic matter (compared to 15-20% in most composts) plus a balanced NPK of 4-2-3. Compost is a soil improver. Chicken manure pellets are both a fertiliser and a soil improver in one. For the best results, use both – compost for bulk organic matter and structure, and chicken manure pellets for concentrated nutrition.
