SoilWorx Liquid N is an organic liquid nitrogen fertiliser for professional crop nutrition, not liquid nitrogen (LN2) for industrial or cryogenic use. Produced from organic nitrogen sources at our Newry plant, it is formulated for foliar application and fertigation systems where rapid nitrogen uptake is needed mid-season, without waiting for pelletised products to break down in the soil.

When to use liquid nitrogen fertiliser?
Liquid N is a complementary tool, not a replacement for base nutrition. Use it when:
- A crop shows nitrogen stress signs during the growing season and needs a rapid response
- Soil conditions prevent mechanical spreading of pelletised products (waterlogged, standing crop)
- You want to split nitrogen applications and top up through a fertigation system
- You need nitrogen delivery through existing irrigation infrastructure
- Late-season nitrogen demand in protected or horticultural crops requires precision dosing
Foliar application
Applied as a foliar spray, diluted Liquid N enters the plant directly through leaf stomata, bypassing soil chemistry and delivering nitrogen to the crop within hours rather than days. This makes it particularly effective for rapid green-up after stress, correcting patchy nitrogen distribution, and improving yield potential at critical growth stages such as flag leaf emergence in cereals.
Application should target calm, overcast conditions with good leaf coverage. Avoid application in high temperatures or direct sunlight to minimise scorch risk. Dilution rates and spray volumes are product-specific. Our technical team can advise on programme design.
Fertigation
Liquid N is compatible with drip, overhead and boom irrigation systems. It can be injected at the irrigation head to deliver nitrogen precisely to the root zone. This is particularly effective in protected horticulture, where fertigation allows daily nutrient management tailored to crop development stage.
Crop applications
- Grassland: rapid green-up after grazing or cutting. Also suited to late-season applications where pellet applications are impractical
- Cereals: in-season top-up at flag leaf or ear emergence, and stress recovery
- Horticulture: precision feeding in intensive vegetable and salad systems, and fertigation in protected crops
- Protected crops: tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and other crops grown under glass or polytunnel where fertigation is standard
