Seaweed & Poultry Manure Fertiliser organic biostimulant pellets

Seaweed & Poultry Manure Fertiliser organic biostimulant pellets

Two of nature’s most powerful ingredients. One easy-to-use pellet.

SoilWorx Seaweed & Poultry Manure Fertiliser combines the proven feeding power of organic chicken manure with the natural biostimulant properties of seaweed. The result is a unique pellet that doesn’t just feed your plants – it actively strengthens them against drought, frost, heat and other environmental stresses.

With an NPK of 4-3-2 and a rich profile of natural minerals, antioxidants and growth-promoting compounds, this is the product for gardeners who want to give their plants every possible advantage.

Why add seaweed to poultry manure?

Poultry manure is one of the most nutrient-dense organic fertilisers available. Seaweed is one of nature’s most effective biostimulants. By combining the two in a single pellet, SoilWorx has created a product that works on two levels:

Level 1 Nutrition

The poultry manure base delivers a balanced NPK of 4-3-2, providing nitrogen for leaf growth, phosphorus for root development and an higher level of potassium for stronger flowers, better fruit set and improved overall plant resilience.

Level 2 Biostimulation

The seaweed component contains naturally occurring bioactive compounds that go beyond simple feeding:

  • Laminarin (oligo and polysaccharides) – promotes beneficial microbial activity in the soil, strengthening the root zone
  • Polyphenols (natural antioxidants) — help plants cope with environmental stress including drought, heat and frost
  • Trace minerals – a full spectrum of micronutrients that support balanced, healthy growth

This dual action means your plants aren’t just well-fed – they’re better equipped to handle whatever the British weather throws at them.

Key benefits

Stronger Roots

Seaweed extracts are proven to promote root development. Combined with the phosphorus in the poultry manure, this pellet gives plants the foundation they need to establish quickly and access water and nutrients more efficiently.

Better Stress Resistance

The polyphenols and other bioactive compounds in seaweed help plants tolerate abiotic stress — the kind caused by drought, waterlogging, unexpected frost, high temperatures and salty conditions. This is particularly valuable for exposed gardens, coastal plots and areas prone to dry spells.

Improved Yields

Healthier roots and better stress tolerance translate directly into better harvests. Vegetable growers and fruit gardeners will see improved yields and better-quality produce.

Improved Soil Biology

Like all SoilWorx products, these pellets are rich in organic matter that feeds soil microorganisms and earthworms. The seaweed component adds an extra dimension by promoting beneficial microbial colonies in the root zone.

Certified Organic

Organic Trust certified for use in organic growing systems. Safe for vegetable gardens, allotments and anywhere you grow food.

Seaweed Pellets vs Liquid Seaweed what's the difference?

If you’ve used liquid seaweed fertiliser before, you might be wondering how SoilWorx seaweed pellets compare. Here’s the key difference:

Liquid seaweed

Liquid seaweed is typically a dilute foliar feed or soil drench that provides a quick but short-lived biostimulant effect. It needs to be applied frequently (often weekly) and contains minimal NPK nutrition.

SoilWorx Seaweed & Poultry Manure Pellets

SoilWorx Seaweed & Poultry Manure Pellets combine the biostimulant benefits of seaweed with the sustained nutrition of organic poultry manure in a slow-release pellet. One application feeds and stimulates for 6-8 weeks. You can still use a liquid seaweed as a complementary foliar spray if you wish, but the pellets provide the foundational nutrition and biostimulation your soil and plants need.

Frequently asked questions

Seaweed contains naturally occurring bioactive compounds — including laminarin, polyphenols and trace minerals — that act as biostimulants. These compounds promote stronger root development, improve the plant’s ability to handle stress (drought, frost, heat) and encourage beneficial microbial activity in the soil. When combined with poultry manure as in SoilWorx pellets, you get both sustained nutrition and biostimulation in a single product.

Seaweed fertiliser is excellent for tomatoes. The higher potassium level (K of 4) supports flowering and fruit set, while the biostimulant compounds help tomato plants cope with the temperature fluctuations common in British greenhouses and gardens. Apply at 200g per square metre when planting out, and top-dress every 6-8 weeks through the growing season.

Yes. SoilWorx Seaweed & Poultry Manure Pellets work very well on lawns. The balanced NPK promotes even, healthy growth, while the seaweed biostimulants help your lawn cope with drought and heavy use. Apply at 100g per square metre in spring and again in early summer, watering in well after application.

They serve different purposes. SoilWorx seaweed pellets provide slow-release nutrition (NPK 4-2-4) combined with biostimulant benefits over 6-8 weeks. Liquid seaweed is a short-acting foliar feed with minimal NPK. For most gardeners, the pellets offer far better value and convenience as a primary fertiliser. You can use liquid seaweed as a supplementary foliar spray alongside the pellets if you wish.

Yes. This product is Organic Trust certified, meaning it meets rigorous standards for organic food production. It’s made entirely from natural ingredients — organic poultry manure and seaweed — with no synthetic chemicals, fillers or additives. Safe for use in organic vegetable gardens and allotments.

Apply from March through September, with the first application timed to coincide with planting or the start of the growing season. Seaweed biostimulants are particularly effective during periods of plant stress — early spring when frost risk remains, during hot dry spells in summer, and when transplanting seedlings outdoors.
