Organic fertiliser for your garden

Organic fertiliser for your garden

Whether you are tending a small back garden, nurturing a productive allotment or maintaining beautiful borders, the secret to healthy plants starts with healthy soil. SoilWorx organic fertilisers are made from natural ingredients, carefully processed to deliver the nutrients your plants need while improving your soil with every application.

No harsh chemicals. No complicated mixing. Just natural, effective nutrition that is kind to your soil, your plants and the wildlife that shares your garden.

Why choose organic fertiliser for your garden?

Organic fertilisers work differently from synthetic alternatives. Rather than delivering a quick hit of soluble nutrients that wash through the soil, organic fertilisers release nutrition slowly as soil microbes break them down. This means:

  • Steady, sustained feeding: Your plants receive a consistent supply of nutrients over weeks, not a brief spike followed by nothing.
  • Better soil over time: Every application adds organic matter, improving soil structure, drainage and water retention.
  • Safe for all plants: Organic fertilisers are much less likely to scorch roots or foliage, even if you are slightly generous with application.
  • Wildlife friendly: No harmful chemicals means your garden remains a safe haven for bees, worms, birds, hedgehogs and beneficial insects.
  • Better-tasting produce: Many gardeners report that organically grown vegetables have superior flavour and texture.

A simple guide to NPK

You will see three numbers on every fertiliser pack, like 4-2-3 or 3-2-17. These represent the three main nutrients plants need:

  • N = Nitrogen: Drives leafy green growth. Important for lawns, brassicas, leafy salads.
  • P = Phosphorus: Supports root development, flowering and fruiting. Important when planting, for root vegetables and flowering plants.
  • K = Potassium: Strengthens plants, improves disease resistance and improves fruit and flower quality. Important for tomatoes, potatoes, roses and fruit.

The higher the number, the more of that nutrient the product contains. Choose a fertiliser with the right balance for what you are growing.

Our garden range

Chicken Manure Pellets

The all-rounder. SoilWorx Chicken Manure Pellets are heat-treated, sterilised and compressed into easy-to-handle pellets. Rich in nitrogen with balanced phosphorus and potassium, they are ideal for lawns, vegetables and general garden use. Unlike raw chicken manure, our pellets are low odour, weed-seed free and safe to handle.

Seaweed & Poultry

A premium blend combining the nutrient density of poultry manure with the trace element richness of seaweed. Seaweed naturally contains plant hormones, amino acids and over 60 trace elements that are not found in standard fertilisers. Particularly effective for fruiting crops, flowers and any plants that benefit from greater natural vitality.

Manure, Blood and Bone

Our most balanced organic feed, combining three natural nutrient sources. Blood meal provides readily available nitrogen, bone meal delivers phosphorus for roots and flowers, and poultry manure adds potassium and organic matter. An excellent choice for mixed borders, roses, shrubs and general garden feeding.

Bone Meal

A traditional gardener’s favourite. Pure bone meal is a concentrated source of phosphorus and calcium, making it ideal for planting time. Work SoilWorx Bone Meal into the soil when planting bulbs, trees, shrubs or perennials to encourage strong root development and establishment. Also valuable for correcting phosphorus deficiency in acidic soils.

Application tips

  • Water in after applying: A good watering helps pellets begin to break down and release nutrients to the roots.
  • Little and often: Organic fertilisers are forgiving, but you will get better results from two lighter applications than one heavy one.
  • Wear gloves: While SoilWorx products are safe and sterilised, wearing gardening gloves is always good practice when handling any fertiliser.
  • Store in a dry place: Keep bags sealed and stored in a dry shed or garage to prevent moisture absorption.
  • Do not heap around stems: Keep fertiliser pellets a few centimetres away from plant stems to avoid any concentration effect.

Frequently asked questions

SoilWorx Chicken Manure Pellets are the most versatile choice for vegetable gardens, providing balanced nutrition for most crops. For fruiting vegetables like tomatoes and peppers, Seaweed & Poultry adds beneficial trace elements and potassium.

SoilWorx products are heat-treated and sterilised, making them safer than raw manure. However, as with any garden product, we recommend keeping pets and children away from treated areas until the fertiliser has been watered in and absorbed. Store bags out of reach.

Most gardens benefit from two to three feeds per year: a main spring feed, a summer top-up for heavy feeders, and an autumn application to prepare for winter. Organic fertilisers release nutrients slowly, so you do not need to feed as frequently as with synthetic products.

Our products are heat-treated to over 115°C, which greatly reduces odour. You may notice a mild earthy smell on application, but this fades quickly: usually within a day. Nothing like the smell of raw manure.
